I had high hopes for this film as I actually selected for my birthday outing. The actors all provided wonderful performances, but the script was subpart. Lots of storylines that go nowhere. A crazy neighbor we hear through the ceiling several times, but nothing else. A hairless cats that keeps appearing in her apartment, until she decides to adopt it. A coworker who is laid off. A son whose wife leaves him and her infant child to live in the desert. A daughter who gets pregnant so she moves to Sweden to marry her professional surfer boyfriend. Friends who all the sudden have a daughter get married ending the movie at the reception. Talk about getting into the scene as late as you can and leave as early as you can. This concept of screenwriting on steroids. Still not sure who the antagonist is other than a life lived in loneliness. Average life with average issues. It's like they cherry picked interesting scenes from a novel that didn't lead anywhere and jammed into a movie. O give it a C grade only because the cast delivered in some interesting scenes. Story line was a nothing burger.
