Territory wants to be Yellowstone in Australia. Good idea. Yellowstone is an epic franchise, and Australia is a big beautiful landscape to work with. But the show fails in its attempt in many different ways. 1st, there is literally no characters with any redeeming qualities. Nada. The Kevin Costner equivalent lead (of Longmire fame) is a washed up bitter old man who has alienated everyone in his family. Each (and everyone) of the family is flawed and hard to root for. The bad guys are bad, but the problem is there are no good guys. Not even flawed good guys who are trying to get better. 2nd, there is very little action til the last scene of the last episode, and it’s payoff is less than rewarding. 3rd, although the Marianne station is worth 4-500 million (at least, based on bids for it), there never seems to be anything close to the sophistication, infrastructure, or entourage befitting such an organization. 4th, the Beth equivalent is far less likeable and never seems to grow on you. I’ll stop there to avoid spoilers. I really, really wanted to like this and watched all the episodes waiting for the action, humor, emotional payoff, but it never came. Doesn’t inspire, shock you, or make you care about the characters, or frankly, the story… Pass
P.S. I am a little annoyed at all the reviews that say ‘it was obviously made for American audiences.’ Bah! We are used to better (Yellowstone, Fargo, Breaking Bad, etc)
