Disappointed overall for two major reasons
1. Authenticity; One of the items I appreciated about Clancy was his authenticity and due diligence in background development to provide a factual frame of reference, this movie was much more in the Hollywood la la la reference frame. For example, the only current special forces female is green beret, while I applaud Hollywood for pushing the agenda just doesn’t capture reality or Tom’s desire to be factual.
2. Acting. I simply found acting very clunky was hard to buy into the characters. Also, highly inconsistent in scenes, one moment Michael Jordan is limping along as though he has been beat to death, the next moment he is fine. Again, more of a fantasy movie than a Clancy movie.
So very disappointing for an author who I have very much respected, while his books can be challenging for the first 100 pages, never disappointed with his diligence, this movie seems like an unfortunate capitalization of his name.
