I have seen the play 7 times and I enjoyed the movie version as well. I believe the main changes in the play were to give more time/life to each of the Jellicle Cat characters. The stars that played each character gave a good look into the cat's personality. The sets were remarkable -- especially with trying to have them set at a "cat's eye view."
