VWars, based on the comics of the same name by Jonathan Maberry, is a show about vampirism- with a twist. Vampires are humans who have been infected with a prion unleashed by the melting polar ice caps. This unique approach brings a fresh perspective to the vampire myth, and makes the concept more relatable in today's world. Ian Somerhalder stars as Doctor Luther Swann. His character develops tremendously throughout the season. Ian's performance is top notch- we can easily put ourselves in Dr. Swann's shoes. Everything from fear, to shock, to indignation is felt by the audience. Adrian Holmes stars as Michael Fayne. In a way, he plays both protagonist and antagonist. He is the best friend of Swann. However, he is also at times his enemy. Adrian does a stellar job at portraying such a dynamic character. The bond between Fayne and Swann is palpable, enviable. Packed with action, suspense, stunning visuals, and even science, V-Wars will not only entertain, but it will also have you thinking. Tune in on Netflix and enjoy!
