The first two episodes are full of cheap tricks by the writers to create conflict that is entirely unnecessary. The origin of conflict needs to make sense. It is absurd to make characters not explain the context of their actions when it is painfully obvious to make other characters come to incorrect conclusions.
Captain (protagonist) trying to maintain order. Antagonist mutinies, is thwarted and life is spared, again attacks captain, but with a knife and she kills him in self defense. She tells the crew that she killed him because he was a threat to the mission, they assume cold blooded murder, and she does not tell them it was self defense. A child would be smart enough to incorporate the context, why isn't a qualified captain who is entrusted with the fate of humanity?
Character actions need to make sense. I really wanted to like this show, but like I said, cheap tricks to create unnecessary conflict...
