I can understand why some are disappointed, believing this to be a "game". It is not. But it is a stunningly created environment with incredible ambience and soulful music, and a wonderful opportunity to see from the inside a physically, emotionally and psychologically damaged human being. The monologue is compelling, done perfectly. One cannot choose but wonder what is real, and what is only a product of the man's drug-induced psychosis. It is not for those who are struggling with their own phantoms or demons, and although it may seem hopeless, there is light at the end of the tunnel. I have sat, in my imagination, at the mouth of the cave by the lit candle, watching the moon sail through the cloud-torn Hebredean sky, marveling at the beauty of this world. Kudos, Chinese Room.
