I knew going into this that it wasn't going to be as amazing as the originals but I wanted to give it a chance because the first remake was decent. However I wanted to quit watching as soon as the kid seemed to steal the doll that could save their family. But I promised myself I'd give it a fair review so I watched until the end. The only positive about this movie was showing Buzz McAllister and I had hoped they would cameo at the end with Kevin or at least a phone call. Very disappointing. My biggest issue was probably that I related with the "villains" more than anyone else. A struggling family that wants what's best for their family even though it was through a completely misguided way. I was so upset with the level of extreme violence they endured. Not once was it funny. In the original film you knew the bad guys deserved every single thing that came their way and their reactions were what made it funny. This was just painful to watch. I never ended up liking the character Max either, he just never seemed sincere and the ending proved it with him again asking for something he wasn't entitled too. To sum up I think this movie needs a complete redo. Try harder Disney!
