I am a huge book nerd. I love to read dystopian novels. But this book was a huge disappointment that I really expected more out of. The plot is a complete drag and none of the characters get any development. The idea of losing your dreams, then global environment issues, crazy scientist, are too many problems for this book. Especially when it's condensed into 250 pages! The government and scientists were talked about once then never again. We have no idea what their motivation was for human genocide. It's like the author was too lazy to write an actual back story. The other character has backstories that don't contribute to any development, then the love story is just the worst! French and Rose have the cringiest and most awful love story. It seems very forced and there is no connection between the characters. All we learn is that French likes Rose because she's beautiful. She really should've just dumped him. This book is a complete mess that had some potential. I would give it 0.5 of a star but unfortunately, that is not an option. If you want a book that will completely waste your time, The Marrow Thieves is for you.
