This is an amazing debut novel by an award-winning short story writer. The novel really hits deep when it discusses the treatment of asylum seekers in Nauru. Why do we create institutions that purposefully inflict people with needless suffering for political gain? It makes me so angry! This book is beautifully written, fast-paced, and emotionally riveting.
