Ryan Mansfield

This film had an interesting premise and an incredibly bland delivery. A large portion of the film is filled with extremely tedious exposition dumps. A general rule of good storytelling is that it is always better to show than to tell, and the content of this film is almost exclusively tell, all dialogue and no action. This wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing but the dialogue is also incredibly boring.

It’s rare to find a show that is so well written and captivating while simultaneously remaining wholesome. I’ll be sad to see Emergence cancelled, it seems like shows in this genre tend to get crushed by negative reviews before they get the chance to prove themselves.
