I loved watching Soul of a Nation. It was enlightening as well as informative. I'll be 73 years old by the end of this week so I am sure that you realize that all of what was shown was not new for me. I've lived it. Perhaps the greatest difference now, is that there is less division among Black people as it was when I was school and college age; where skin color mattered even among us, African Americans.
One thing I pray will be brought to our attention through Soul of a Nation, is about the violence that exists in our Black community as a result of discrimination. Today a 6 grade girl was shot in the face while sitting in the back seat of her mother's car at a gas station. Yesterday, a Black mother and daughter died because their house was set afire (arson). I've noticed an influx of young men walking with limps and in wheel chairs as a result of Black on Black (gang) crime.
Stories like Soul of a Nation must continue so that we can repair what has been called "the norm".
