So many remarkable qualities to this movie. A story told in other times, but this time with depth. Each character brings insight and understanding to the story. I was profoundly moved.

Too often the Philippines is “off the grid” for our media, despite our long history as well as the Philippine presence in so many countries. I actually was not aware that Imelda Marcos was still alive. The film is dense with details of not just the role of the Marcoses in the past but their current and projected future involvement in their country. It clarifies why the Philippine people are poor and probably destined to remain so. I am much better for having seen it. I’ve recommended it to others and will probably watch it again.
