I don't want to discredit the crew who put the work into the movie. The set designs were really amazing. They had a good storyline going where Barbie had to go to the real world. It was interesting to find out that it wasn't the young girls memories Barbie was seeing, but it was the Moms, however, the whole thing with Ken's infatuation with Barbie, Ken wanting Barbies attention, and threatening to turn Barbie World in Ken's world was ridiculous. This wasn't a musical, but Ken also had unecessary dance numbers that added no good value to the plot of the movie. The message of being yourself/feel empowered felt lost in transalation with the messy dialogue and pointless secondary cast. This movie was extremely overhyped. For being arguably the biggest movie of the year, I expected more. It just wasn't great. They tried to crack dirty humor without it being to obvious but it really wasn't that funny. Please do not make a Barbie 2 or Ken sequel. If you feel fomo for not watching this movie yet, don't worry about it, you're not missing anything.

Treasure EP 1: All to Zero is an incredible album. It's a six track EP with two singles, Pirate King & Treasure. Each of them were accompanied by an official music video. If I had to describe the genre to fit the album I would say it's a mix of pop, EDM, & hip hop. The songs range from heavy and loud synths to soft & melodic bells. The tone of the album is very theatrical in a sense. It's safe to say they are dynamic with the production. They chose a pirate theme to set off the mood of the album. Much to my surprise, is was really quite compelling. The visuals they presented themselves with were eye-catching & their performances were so well executed you would have never thought of them as rookies at the time.

The physical album came in 3 versions: Inception, Thanxx, & Diary. Each with their own theme & contents. There's so much diversity with each track, Ateez is sure to gain new fans from all over the world. There is an introductory track called Dear Diary: 2016.07.29 which I found interesting that it was in the perspective of a girl. What's especially interesting is the last song on the track called One Day at a Time, that is entirely in English. It may act as subtle tribute to Ateez huge international fanbase, but its overall message is surely directed to all their fans. This song fit so well in the album & came at the best time considering everything going on in the world. If there is an album to introduce someone to Ateez, this would be a great choice.
