What a great WW2 series. Irreverent and heartfelt. A good remake of the movie with its own spin, characters are more fully developed as well.

Quiet and simple, acted with heart and soul.

Beautiful, dramatic and deep, with the simplest of glances saying more than most films can with paragraphs of words.

What a heartbreaking, gut wrenching film - but so beautifully acted and directed, it’s truly not to be missed though will definitely leave you in tears. Based on the true WW2 story of the Danish school mistakenly bombed by the RAF, you can’t help feeling the weight of the war on the civilians. The child actors are simply incredible, so much depth behind the characters they represent, particularly the young boy, Henry.

I know I’m in the minority with this opinion but I found all of season 1 uninspired. Other than the Nazi father, I could care less what happens to any one character. They seem to be flat and lacking any depth, don’t know if it’s just due to the shallow acting but that’s a contributing cause. The scenery is realistic but looks like a set stage. Not one performance was quality enough to make me want to watch the next season.
