Vulgar and illogical. Emerald Fennel's last directorial, A promising young woman, was so good that I expected her to do just as well this time. This one is certainly quite disappointing.
I think they were trying to make a statement on class difference and greed like 'Parasite,' but the loopholes in the plot and the over-the-top sequences took the focus off the central theme. While Parasite had one irrelevant sequence, this one had many, but while Parasite repeatedly reminded the audience what its point was, Saltburn lost track.
