once upon a time they used to make movies that made you forget you were watching one, because the story was so compelling and the delivery so captivating, you just got lost in it. you can go back and analyze the direction, acting, cinematography, script, sound, and admire every bit of artistry and craft put into this gem, but i always find myself just enjoying the movie instead of analyzing it.

Google wont let me post without giving a star, but it would be minus 5 if i could. I felt like I was being force-fed bad drugs. Terrible script, direction, and acting, this is a prime example of what happens when amateurs take over an industry. And, I’m sorry Dianne Wiest, even your talent couldn’t save this ridiculous piece of pretentious confused abomination. And I cannot believe the reviews it got from nyt and roger ebert. At least I know those reviewers are to be ignored.

what a waste of talent, money, and time. self indulgent and boring, this is the best kind of proof that you cant just throw together a good director, talented actors and nyc and think that's enough to get a good movie.

#appletvplus have my attention. after a meh start ( i gave #themorningshow a chance but didn't really like it ), i recently came across the beautiful animated #wolfwalkers, and then last night unenthusiastically started watching #tedlasso and binged until late. its about an american football coach coming over to the uk to help a local soccer team. best line up to now: american: "where's he from?" brit: "wales-its a country in england" a: "how many countries are in this country?" b: "4" a: "oh, kinda like the U.S. these days" it looks like Apple's strategy to gain footing in the budding #ctv market is to bring back real quality tv, with strong scripts and great actors. and they just added another 6 free months to apple subscribers.

the art is stunning, especially the panoramic backdrops and use of colors which tell the hour of the day. the story is also well told, and although the film as a whole lacks consistency a bit, i highly recommend it, not just for kids.

finally a movie i can watch beginning to end without losing interest or cringing at the script/direction/acting. also a great peek at the inner workings and psychology behind all the power hunger and corruption and lies and manipulations that have taken over our lives see it and weep.

good fun, with the usual brit crime twists and turns and video game eyecandy, characters, dialogue and garb. the cast has a great time filling up their roles, hugh grant finally gets something to bite on, colin farrell is a blast, but some of the characters are really flat and it seems like guy ritchie may be getting tired of imitating himself
