This album literally feels bereaved of the mainstream appeal Taylor usually pours succinctly into her lyricism. Taylor has this beautiful feat of turning an incandescently vulnerable and personal song into a pop / country bop you can't quite get over until you have learned it by heart, but this album falls flat in that appeal( for instance, lover, daylight, I almost do, back to December, delicate among many and many others). Now this album might receive critical appraisal as it's embellished with perfectly crafted lyricism and beautiful indie elements - which I don't connect to - and it certainly will be lauded by an audience with a niche taste, but it won't receive commercial success like 1989 or Red. I personally don't connect to this album and feel she should have released an album with elements that could rule mainstream media and locals' playlists, which we saw Taylor do in the past with bops like shake it off and blank space. And the reason I'm being so strictly critical of this album is because I believe she needs to release bops that locals would connect to in order to remain relevant in the male dominant music industry. Anyways, lets hope this album gets appreciation from critics and fans likewise , unlike from me. Thank you. Crucify me for this, but in my opinion, it's her least likely album to be approved by locals, which means in the near future she'll lose her relevance in this male chauvinistic industry and will not be someone like Madonna but Mariah. Good luck, Taylor .
