I was very excited to see the movie, been waiting months to see it. Unfortunately it fell short of expectations, not that I had set them high to begin with. The horror aspect was underwhelming, basically creepypasta monsters and subjective villains. Character-wise, it was all just the same; the casting was rather perfect in my opinion, but the acting is what made it flop. The random love/relationships we were given were forced and slightly uncomfortable to say the least. I’m all for having lgbtq representation and romance in the media, I live for it, but they did not do it any justice in the movie.
All that, but the worst was the climax/ending. You’ll have to watch it to see it, but the full circle ending and the forced metaphors and analogies were stacked upon one another to the point it became lyrically predictable. So much potential, but the only highlight was the cinematic concept of a Marvel’s X-Men horror movie. Execution was a dud.
