Yoshitoki Oima Master Piece “A Silent Voice” A silent voice is a book series that pulls on your heartstrings from start to finish from the pain of being bullied for your differences or the redemption of Shoya Ishida, throughout the silent voice novel series it follows Shoya Ishida and Shouko Nishimiya. Shouko Nishimiya is one of the main characters followed throughout the story, her character within the start of the novel is quite boring and lacks numerous characteristics creating a boring character where the reader can only feel sympathy for her, however following her character into highschool that shell the author created seems to leave and the readers can learn her true kind personality. Shoya Ishida the second, protagonist the first character shown within “A Silent Voice”. His character has exciting development going from the school bully to a young gentleman who puts others ahead of himself. The author Yoshitoki Ōima had made “A Silent Voice” a piece of art, both the book and the movie can bring tears to anyone no matter how emotionless they seem. There was only one issue that could be noticed within the novel and that was how the author had constantly introduced new side characters, each new side character had no importance and the story would’ve been perfectly fine if they had never been introduced. Overall with the near-perfect characters Shoya and Shouko and the bothersome of the constant new side characters the novel is an outstanding eight out of ten and should be on everyone's must-reads.
