I am extremley outraged and disapointed in this film. I am obsessed with the After series and have read the books to many times too count and loved the first movie. This movie did not meet my expectations what so ever. First off the movie was not chronologically correct at all and felt like scenes were randomly placed and theye was no storyline in the movie. Second there were very big key character points that needed to be addressed and werent such as Hardin learning to love his mum more verbally, Tessa's relationship with the scott family, and Nial and Tessa's relationship which was not even apart of the movie but was a key element in the books as this was something Tessa's and Hardin fight over constantly. There were also very important moments that were rushed and gave no time for us to process as well as blasting music over them so you couldnt understand what was being said, such as Hardin apologizing to his father for punching him which was an important factor in his process of becoming a better person, you could not hear what he said at all and the scene ended in seconds. Another example is the tattoo Hardin gets with quote on his back, this scene eneded so quickly I couldnt even read it, as well as this tattoo was a symbol of his love for Tessa and this was not even addresed and made the tattoo meaningless. The last item I will address that irratated me was when they compiled multiple important character developing scenes into a compliation of meaningless second length clips, all on tessas birthday. In this was the ice skating date which was meant to show Hardin going out of way to impress Tessa into taking him back and how he has changed since being apart but turned into a scene where he only agreed because it was her birthday. On this day was also the babysitting scene with Smith, Hardin was not meant to just agree to this as one big issues is that he hates kids and Tessa wants some in the future but in the scene he tries to talk to the kid and seems happy. This movie was to meant to be full of passionate fights, sex and meaningful character developments but the characters had very little emotions or passion and the scenes where so rushed that nothing was meaningful at all. Overall I was looking forward to this movie so much but am so sad at the way at it was directed and filmed that I am no longer excited for the next after movie.
