While the film has incredible visuals and several scenes that capitalize on the incredible improvements in animation, the film does not improve on the original. The voice acting leaves a lot to be desired, the characters often feel dead and emotionless. The focus on realism often means that the characters are far less anthropomorphic, and a lot of the fun, fantastical feel of the original is lost in the remake. The first third of the movie feels very rushed with poor pacing, and the movie attempts to capitalize on present issues but doesn't do so in a way that improves the story. Biggest flaw? They utterly ruined "Be Prepared".
