Really enjoyable and surprising for the most part. Great characters well cast. Very funny at times in a smart way.Some great twists and jumpscares but not really scary. Id say more of a comedy than a horror but well worth the ride.

A detective series with a consistent and genuine integrity based on reality which still manages to be constantly entertaining . Lovely performances. The pair of lady detectives at its core were always riveting finding a very Cagney and Lacey vibe to their relationship.Nice writing . Hits no wrong notes and is dramatically and emotionally satisfying . Favourite scene : the junior detective spontaneously breaks into song on her car for 10 seconds for no apparent reason . Beautiful moment of emotional truth .

This film made me angry. Setting up a serious traumatic mood with a devastating and horrifically sad first half it then betrays this by descending rapidly into gross out horror shenanigans making a mockery of the serious tone of the earlier part . I was genuinely offended by this film which I would describe as grief porn . Having seen the directors much better follow up movie midsommar I am willing to believe his intentions were to make a challenging interesting film here ,but he misfired . Grotesque.

Slow. A little frustrating and ponderous but worth it on the end . Visually gorgeous. Some standout scenes featuring superb special effects and a very likeable cast .I predict this film will be far more liked in a couple of years than on release .

A film that puzzles for most of its length until a plot twist comes along that makes you rethink everything you've seen and even changes ones perspective on the performances . If you are watching this and wondering why The fine lead actors are giving odd performances wait .there is a payoff .while not totally successful the film has the courage to take a huge risk narratively and emotionally.
