I loved it! Saoirse Ronan is fantastic as Lady Bird, and special mention goes to Laurie Metcalf as her mother. Well acted, wonderful story.

Little Women is one of my favorite stories, so it's hard to give a thumbs down to this movie. But I have to. Yes, for the most part, this is a beautiful, well acted version. But all in all, my friends and I were sorely disappointed that our favorite story was chopped up into pieces to give it a more 'modern take.' Meryl Streep and Laura Dern's talents were wasted on this movie. The actor who played Laurie was very good, but too young for the role. The four girls are played by excellent actresses, but seemed wrong for their roles, maybe because of the way the story was told. Where did our beloved story go? Forget the time period switches. We loyal fans of this story want to see it done as it has been...in chronological order, not chopped into pieces to play guess what happens when? And those who had never seen the previous movies or read the book were extremely confused and didnt see what we have always raved about. Soooo ... If it ain't broke, dont fix it!
