I got a mixed feeling. Feel good to see the attempt to address some intimate aspects of a newly wedded malayali couple's life, while their lives revolve closely around (mostly well wishing but a bit too observant) relatives, friends and colleagues. Except for a few clichéd characters, most characters in the movie seem “current”. The protagonist's appearance and expressions befits the storyline, but the dialogue delivery disappoints me. The worst aspect of the movie, if you ask me, is the extremely loud and often unpleasant background music. SPOILER ALERT I give two stars mainly because the movie spiraled down to the good old plot of a “miracle” and the couple’s “happily ever after” life. I feel that the ending defeats the very essence of the movie. Not many infertile couples, whose chances are dismissed by doctors, get pregnant. Unfortunately the myth that “happy relaxed life, healthy organic eating, etc can naturally cure infertility” seems reinforced. Moreover the couple finally receiving the “gift of a baby” reminds the old movie storylines that couldn’t help adhering to popular stereotypes that please audience. This would have been a far more progressive and inclusive movie had it ended differently.

Movie seems to endorse bad virtues. Professional jealousy, humiliation, cheap egotism, dishonesty, hostility, competition, rivalry, shortcuts to success, cheating etc are all depicted as if these were the norm. Interestingly, the studious people and the teachers/officers who stand up against cheating in exams are shown as the villains or hypocrats!!!! Movies like Vellimoonga or even Mukundanunni Associates acknowledge that the protagonist is crooked. This one doesn’t. Despite having a good team of actors and a decent screenplay, the story failed to connect, atleast with me.

Really dont understand why this movie became a hit in Kerala!!! Reminded old Rajanikanth movies that were exclusively made to thrill his fans. I like Fahad a lot and as always he has performed well. But the movie as a whole stooped to mere baffoonery with little substance or artistic value.

What could’ve been an Indian classic, or a tribute to the heroes who fought for us/ lost their lives, has been created as a laughable masala entertainer. The actor who plays Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan doesn’t bear any resemblance with the real life hero. His pathetic performance coupled with the incorrect/unimpressive representation of Indian Army, the melodrama, lack of realism, the initial drag to build his character, technical errors……Didn’t feel like a good creation.

In short ….”all sizzle and no steak”!

Beautiful beautiful movie! The first few minutes and the last part was a bit over dramatic and amateurish. Otherwise an absolutely brilliant craft . Should mention that casting is brilliant. The resemblances of actors (their childhoods vs adult lives), resemblances between mothers and daughters etc was amazing. Have seen such attention to detail in Hollywood movies only. All in all enjoyed it to the fullest!. Thanks to the creators and the crew!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

A nice movie by Mahesh Narayanan. There has been keen attention to detail; the factory ambience, its worn out workers, their living arrangements etc seemed amazingly real. In fact one can’t find Divya Prabha and Kunchako Boban in the movie but just the characters they played.❤️❤️ The integrity, character and the independent nature of the protagonist kind of surprised me though; qualities rare for a married woman from a background that usually conditions women otherwise. I personally felt, some of the important events were portrayed with lesser emphasis than they deserved. Had they been given a bit more attention, I felt……the movie might have turned out to a classic piece of art.

Highly underrated movie! The movie is a political drama that mocks the hollowness of monument-politics and the flamboyantly named/publicized projects; jacked up merely for personal and political popularity. The movie also tacitly reflects society’s attitude to a young man who doesn’t earn; never considering if he might be suffering from any disability/mental blocks/mental illness. In the first half, Nivin beautifully portrays that unappealing protagonist, a disheartened and lost soul, humiliated for his weight gain and joblessness. Hmm…. And I am not surprised by some negative reviews in here. That the second half was plainly left-biased, could have attracted scorn and hence criticism from the rightists.
