The movie was far better than I thought it would be. I actually had low hopes of enjoying this movie. But I was pulled in from the very start. The acting was good. Some parts were a bit difficult to believe. But it is what it is. Other parts were really annoying like with the male detective. He was so unhelpful when Beth was trying to get to the bottom of what happened to her friend. The scenery however was really beautiful. Croatia is stunning.

Great performances. As one would expect from the cast. I love, love, love that the film is designed to feel like you’re watching a stage performance. The story at times is very difficult to digest. There is definitely a lack of love coming from the father, Troy. He has no loving affection for his sons. This family is very broken because the father is very broken. They all have more than enough to deal with on an everyday basis, then Troy goes out and creates an extra marital relationship resulting in a new baby. This part of the movie was very, very heartbreaking to watch. Viola Davis is a gem. The entire cast showed up to give excellent performances. I gave the film three stars because of the violence between father and son. It was hard to watch. The storyline of the cheating and the baby was difficult as well.
