Lt. Ripley

This is a good film. However it doesn't explore the characters enough for me. I got the feeling of being thrown in at the deep end. I enjoyed it and it has been done before but a sterling cast made sure you weren't left feeling disappointed. There were a few twists and turns and it has moments of extreme discomfort. But then let's not be naive in that world dirty old men do do rude things to young women on the game. I personally would not be able to do that as I'd vomit over his shoes. No not bad if you're a fan of the likes of training day, that type of ilk, Worth a watch if you're over 18.

I love this film. It says loud and clear the old are not finished. It should also be a reminder to the young and evil who think it's cool to not give a f*** that if it wasn't for the veterans of both wars we'd all be either under the thumb of Hitler's reasoning or probably not born or exterminated anyway. Yeah they want to think about that now and again. Anyway Michael Caine is totally believable in this film of revenge. It's about what's decent and right and it works on every level. Brilliant revenge movie with a realistic streak that some who prefer Hollywood might not like. Tough it's great.

This isn't a bad film, it's intriguing and suitably Dystopian to give us sci fi fans something to watch. But they try really hard and it shows. The film is slick and unmoving. You don't really root for the survivors which is a pity as the acting is good. The ending is disappointing as for me 99% of all films especially one as dire and cold in its mood need a sort of happy ending or at least one letting you decide it's fate in a positive way. There are no spoilers here it's twists and turns don't let you in until the last minute but that's half the fun of this type of film. Guessing who the real guilty party is. I think with a little more humanity it would be a great film. It's good something to watch on a rainy afternoon but make sure you have a few Family Guy's or a Toy Story film for after.

I love Jackie Chan got into him in the 80s as a teen, and followed him. Did a painting of him Samo Hung, and Yuen Biao when I was in my 20's a big oil painting and called it three dragons. I was shocked when I got a letter off Jackie Chan thanking me, and we wrote to each other for four years. Then he went to the States to make Rush Hour and that was that. I love his early films it's when he's at his peak, Wheels on Meals, Project A, Operation Condor. Check them all out, they rock. I will never get over how amazing he was/is in his films and the pure amount of hard work he does on each film make them special, especially when he nearly dies a few times doing his own stunts. He has plastic in his head to cover a hole. Remember that! That's how much this man put into his films. His early stuff in HK cinema is amazing. Happy watching. Just a note the fight scenes had to be slowed down for the European audiences, because they were so fast that we couldn't cope! Wow!

This is one of those little gems you start watching while you're preoccupied with something else and it suddenly grips you. It plays rougher than you think it's going to, and you're left wondering where to next? It has moments full of suspense and unusually although you think you know what's going to happen it still has a few surprises up it's sleeve. I think the quality of the acting is superb, and that alone makes it nearer an A not a B. It had me hiding under the cushions, at one point. It's a good film, and fits both day or night, especially with a bowl of popcorn on the couch. Not to be confused with the 1935 film of the same name. No if you get the chance watch it. For me it was an enjoyable way to spend a rainy afternoon, and provided a well deserved break.
