This movie is an 11/10, but it has several flaws. I'll start with those SPOILERS The biggest criminal of this movie was that it was a children's movie. I'm not saying that it should have been super bloody or anything, just that they had to cram so much into 1.5 hours of a movie. Grimmel was underdeveloped. it would have been nice to see something of a comparison in hiccup's eyes to how he could've turned out had he killed toothless when he had the chance in the first movie. many of the side characters, especially the war lords and hiccup's friends, were completely unnecessary. The hidden world ended up being more of a concept than a place. this movie also isn't great on its own. Now why was it an 11/10 if these are some huge flaws? let's start by saying that this is the most beautiful film ever. I have not seen more nuanced expression and incredible detail, nor have I ever felt so immersed in a film, as if I was sailing above the clouds myself. Other than that, this movie nailed it with what was most important: hiccup's relationships with Astrid, Stoick, and Toothless (especially Toothless! I forgot to mention the incredible comedic moments that came from him, like his mating signals!). Every time these characters we're on screen, I was laughing, smiling, or crying. Speaking of crying, that entire ending was absolutely incredible. everything from toothless leaving with the dragons, to hiccup and Astrid marrying, to seeing hiccup as a father with his kids, telling them the legends of dragons, to him and toothless meeting again, closing the circle of one of the greatest trilogies ever made. that's why it's an 11/10; it does exactly what it should've done and it does it really freaking well.

I will start by saying that my expectations were low to begin with. You know what I expected? An actual story that progressed, or even a character progression. if all you care about is sending a message that women should all just be jerks and egotistical towards anyone who isn't one, then you've made the perfect movie. I will say it was a funny movie, with a few memorable scenes, such as everything Goose. Going back to a gripe, I honestly thought the VFX were disgusting in this movie. nothing looked remotely real, and this is an awful follow up to infinity war, which, in my opinion, should have won best visual effects. I will say, though, that the scene where she gets her powers is quite breathtaking. I will also admit that all of the performances put on by the actors were wonderful. It wasn't as corny as I thought it would be, thankfully. I honestly expected something to happen in this movie, but while people were moving all over the Galaxy, nothing was really happening. Really, the entirety of the story seemed to be leaning on the backs of the failure that was the plot twist. I'm pretty sure plot twists should subvert expectations, but for some reason I saw this coming. A different complaint is that this movie was, in it's entirety, purely a setup for Endgame. People seem to think that a good, strong character has no flaws or weaknesses. The opposite couldn't be more true. A strong character is one that circumvents or lives with the problems they are dealt. Carol is the perfect hero, but Captain Marvel is the worst character I've seen in the MCU.
