Many of the romantic aspects of this show remind me of Grey’s Anatomy especially with the will they won’t they between the main character and love interest, although the storylines are very different. The plots are interesting and the characters are well developed. Would definitely recommend. I noticed many people appalled by the appearance of people of color in such high standings in this society. Many complaining of the lack of acknowledgment of the treatment of slaves in this era. These people obviously do not know the writer of this show, Shonda Rhymes, nor what it is based on as if they did they would know that it is not attempting to be historically accurate (based off of a book not history) nor offensive towards people of color. The fact that people would like to deny others roles solely for the color of their skin is astonishing and abhorrent.
