Movie is an excellent adaptation of one of my favorite animes I owned in my youth. It did follow the original fairly well except for the added element of the "Rollerball" knockoff game, and it did add a little more backstory to Alita from the Manga that wasn't in the original OVAs. Overall my new favorite live action adaptation ranked up there with Ghost in the Shell.
