I'm not sure why this movie got such poor reviews and I'm glad I did not read them before watching it because it likely would have put me off from choosing it. This movie was fantastic. Quirky, bizarre, funny, dark, beautiful, revolting, romantic, sexy...it's got it all. Most people have dark secrets from their childhood, family, or the place they grew up--things swept under the rug perhaps even until this day--as well as complicated or repugnant figures from their past. This film captures that twisted reality so adeptly. Some reviewers said it was overdone but I think they're missing the point; it was designed to be over-the-top and all the different elements add to its appeal. A one-of-a-kind film I won't soon forget.

The premise was interesting, but I lost interest during the second episode because of how immature and ridiculous the crew members were. I agree with another reviewer: why would you put that group of twenty-somethings on a mission to save the planet? The main actress, her husband and daughter Janna (wow!) were great, but everything else got boring pretty fast.
