Pete Davidson can't do anything but remind us his dad died when he was a kid and expect us to care about him as much as the paparazzi used to. We don't. My dad died when I was a kid, too, buddy. Can't coast on that forever and let it define your entire life. That's not a career. Rehashing a threadbare tale to death isn't an endless font of story ideas. An autobiographical story about getting Mulaney back on coke would have at least been novel.

This movie blew me away. It was bittersweet because my son we lost to a brain tumor is the one who got me into Superheroes and to stop looking down on stories about them, and I really wish we lived in a world where he could one day see this movie. I just hoped it would be good, but it was incredible. The detective aspect really made it special. Every actor, in even the smallest roles, went well beyond my highest hopes. Turturo, for example, was incredible. Jeffrey Wright was a highlight. Pattison nails every part of the role, including the voice. Just, honestly, I wanted a good movie and I got a flawless one.

This is everything I could have hoped for an more. Award-caliber performances, an unsettling mystery, a great focus on two characters too often consigned to the background. I'm a hundred-percent on board. The people who don't like it honestly seem to not understand what it's doing. It's fine not to like it, but, for a lot of people, its unique blend of elements is a wish come true. *Flourish!*
