First let me say, I miss Lizbeth, like I miss a best friend.
Stieg wrote with the heart of Lizbeth, no one else has been able to capture her. With each new book I have hope. And this one is the biggest let down. Aside from the child rape, the personal political attacks,Stieg was political but not but not divisive.
I know with all my heart Lizbeth would have not watched Kill Bill with a young female child, she would not have used curse words of a sexual nature with a female child, or had sex with a married father the way she did. Lizbeth may have been crass, but scarred the way she was as a child, she would have more of a protective attitude with Svala.
Svala, to me was the only redeeming part of the book. She brought back warm feelings I felt for young Lizbeth. I wanted to love this book but was disappointed that a female author did not come close to understanding Lizbeth.
