Not a fan. The movie is very pretty, and as a fan of Margot Robbie she was lovely. However, the movie lacked in every other aspect. The biggest issue being the underdeveloped characters. I found it difficult to feel for the emotional scenes when we had no emotional connection to the characters. Scenes rambled on with not enough substance. Reality as compared to Barbieland was not so different. In the end instead of breaking the barriers between men and women, all we heard was complaints and the continuation of the matriarchy. If men were so bad for doing this in the real world why were the Barbie’s any better?
