One of my favourite jazz albums of all time. Incredible live performance with very melodic, Latin American inspired music. Interesting and captivating vocal arrangements where the voice is used as an instrument. If you are new to Pat, probably worth getting into some preceding albums first, most noticeably Letters from home, before diving into this one.

Wow, reality tv doesn't get any better than this. We loved Lenox Hill equally and this is not only a worthy 'sequal' but expands its scope to the wider NYC emergency health system. I don't want to elaborate the full storyline here, but the series follows several healthcare professionals in their personal and professional life. Both heartbreaking and uplifting it leaves a lasting impression and an admiration for individuals that are even better as part of a team, and have a compassion for their patients and their families that is nothing less then heroic.
