This book is a work of literal perfection. By not enjoying this book, you are failing to appreciate the entire life story of a deeply troubled individual. Fitzgerald's work in "The Great Gatsby" is not only beautiful but amazingly prevalent. His commentary on the American dream and the poison of wealth are truly mind blowing. Fitzgerald is one of the greats for a reason and that reason IS, "The Great Gatsby".

This book is the only book that I have ever read that I still feel like I have very little grasp on. Conrad creates in his story an amazing setting in which much of human life is analyzed and commented on. The book seems to transcend traditional storytelling and as a result feels very personal and important. It's greatest feat however comes with its applicability to today. Although much time has passed since it being written, the themes presented have experienced no wear or tear. Everything that is presented within this novel is still relevant today, to a point where it is almost scary.

Having read countless pieces of literature, I can easily say this novel is up there with the greats. Although the book is quite long and very difficult to read, the end result is a masterpiece. Dostoevsky does not fail in creating an environment that truly keeps the mind racing. Despite holding great themes like humility and suffering, the story itself is truly a though provoking one. A great novel to read especially if you're a proponent of religion as you will find yourself in great company with Dostoevsky.

This book may be over hyped as it is a very simple read and offers very easily interpreted images and meanings. Despite this however, I recommend this book almost due to its simplicity. The overall messages being portrayed by Coelho are always great to be reminded of. Although many of us spend time searching for greatness, we find the search is truly what is leading us away from such greatness. In trying to be and do something amazing, we're truly traveling further and further away from what we truly desire.

This book is an amazing piece of work and should be praised by all students who read it. No matter how many poor reviews you may see from discouraged readers, DON'T listen to them! Most remarks saying this book is "terrible" or "boring" are simply ignorant children who don't understand the importance of the words they're reading. This book is not only a great introduction into free thinking for children but also a great reminder to adults that child is the father of man. For no matter how old someone may grow to be, they can still find a shred of themselves in the main character Holden. It's a truly great book that somehow manages to find a connection with nearly everyone who reads it.

This is one of my favorite novels ever. It constantly keeps you yearning for clarity just like its main character up until the very end until that clarity is received. And although the outcome is contrary to expectations, the work as a whole is made much more beautiful because of it. A great book and a necessary read for anyone who wishes to better their understanding of themselves and their desires.

Although I don't think this book is "legendary" or the greatest book ever written, I do think it is quite exceptional. The haunting storytelling and scenery are amazing. The way in which things devolve feels truly real which is what adds to the impactful ending. Overall, the book serves as a great reminder that all we hold is not permanent and to know our true selves we must be able to perceive such.
