Horrible book. The animal characters are not clearly defined according to gender. They dress immodestly. My kids thought it was weird enough to show me. Someone dropped the book off at my house or else I would have never brought it into my house.

Beautifully written, engaging coming of age story about a vivacious orphan girl as she comes into her own makes new friends and wins the hearts of all she comes across. Some events in the book may come off odd or even taboo to today's generation so I'd recommend for girls above the age of 15. Anne is sure to capture your heart. Enjoyable read with none of the crass stuff of today's books. Very wholesome other than one running theme.
