Very good, great cast, lighthearted funny family fun. I wasn’t sure if any film could come close to the original Charlie and the chocolate factory film and the Royal Dahl book, both being firm childhood favourites. After being disappointed by so many recent remakes and not enjoying the Jonny Depp adaptation of the story or being wowed by the stage show. I went along with an open mind, not really expecting too much. I came out feeling content that justice had been done to both the original book and film (albeit completely new story). It was lovely to have a mixture of old and new songs with so many nods to the book and 70s film, the performances by all of the actors were excellent. Certainly well worth a watch for old Wonka fans and new 😊
