I would prefer to call Rob Zombie and tell him my opinion of 3 FROM HELL, but since I don't have his number, and he probably wouldn't care to hear my opinion anyway, here goes *SPOILERS AHEAD*:
Without Sid Haig, there is no sequel to DEVILS REJECTS. When it became obvious that Mr. Haig was not going to be able to bring Captain Spaulding back for this movie, it should have been abandoned.
DEVILS REJECTS was made 14 years ago. Instead of LORDS OF SALEM, and HALLOWEEN remakes, not to mention 31 (except for the marvelous Richard Brake), Mr. Zombie could have tackled a sequel 5 or 6 years ago. At least that way Captain Spaulding could have saved it. I will applaud Mr. Moseley's wonderful Otis, Mr. Brake's Foxy, and even Sherri Moon Zombie's Baby shined like never before in certain scenes, in particular when firing arrows from atop a dresser. And if Mr. Trejo was to reprise his role as half of The Unholy Two just so Otis could kill him, he should have at least remembered who Otis was..
