Boring movie without any substance. Just a usual neurotic tale.

A very disjointed story with lack of character focus. The story line is old worn out western personal crises and going to a third world country to find themselves and also showing all the despair and exploitation of poor people. Not a very well directed or good screenplay. Good thing it only cost $10 million as it is a total fizzle with very poor acting.

Meaningless tripe with third rate actors and an outdated script. Total waste of time.

Pointless and disjointed film about a complex issue historically. At least they should have hired Farsi speaking actors to give it a veneer of realism. Also historically incorrect and filming in poorer parts off North Africa hardly gives it an authentic Persian locale. Iran in 70's was very prosperous and rapidlly developing, thanks to Shah's vision for a resurrected Persia. The fast pace of oil revenues, rising wealth in urban areas, modernization, industrialization, women's participation in the workforce were some of the reasons for the Shah's overthrow as the conservative religious rural population and mullahs resented that in a traditional ancient society with a rich culture.It would take hours to correct all the mistakes. Very disappointing movie, no wonder it crashed at the box office.
