As an older fan of earlier adaptations I viewed the film with less than an open mind not knowing what to expect. I disliked the chronology of the script; film begins when March sisters are adults. Gerwig lost the opportunity to set up the story doing this. The sound in the theater is always too loud, especially so with all the actors clomping around on wooden floors. The acting was over done and exaggerated from all characters. Timothy was a poor choice as Laurie, Saoirse looks like his mother. I understand Gerwig playing with story in order to gain interest from young generation but a lot of social/cultural richness of time period was sacrificed. My favorite remains 1949 version.
