Trippy Beatz

I would like to start off by saying I would rate this movie a 6 out of 10. The reason I rated this was because the trailer seemed more exciting than the movie itself. Also, the movie gave me a mix between Matrix and Black Mirror with certain effects as well as a virtual reality feel. What could have made this movie better would be the actors and the plot of the movie. Overall, solid movie but needs more plot twists or juicy scenes that make me walk away thinking “Is what I just watched real or fake?”

This was one of my most anticipated movies of this year. The trailer itself took me on a whim but definitely intrigued me. The story revolves around Adam Reed, a 12-year-old boy who has a big mouth that can get him in trouble from time to time. Adam really misses his father who was killed when he was younger. One day, he sees a spaceship arrive and encounters a mysterious man (Ryan Reynolds), who turns out to be the future version of himself. They get acquainted but Adam is still pretty skeptical of the man. The older version of Adam then explains to his younger self that he needs to let go of his anger with everyone about his father or he will end up like the older version of himself. They then team up, go back in time, and find their father and the rest is history. Overall, a great film.
