Sadly, the experiment fell flat. Why? The execution This is Bollywood's first ever attempt to create a meta film of this scale and boy this is uninteresting.What works is the documentary style of shooting as the characters are real life but I know many people will have a problem with the cinematography and yes the lighting, grading and shot taking could have been better.For sure the film is something which is not seen on Indian screens for now and it is totally not entertaining. The script is untightly knitted. Anil Kapoor's performance is good.p. The cinematography is avoidable unintelligently crafted long shots are not something which is Bollywood is known for nor does the audience have a particular appetite for them, yet they,, create a small lasting impression on the audience.Instead of showing DVD library with iconic movies they could've shown much better cinematography. The problem with the movie is only Anil Kapoor is doing acting, all others are just part of a vlog. They're just standing there and doing dialogue delivery. That takes the soul out a movie. Even with this kind of movie the supporting cast is important. They give reference of Taken in the movie, well Taken was much detailed and full of thrill! This movie is a story not a script, the idea was definitely good but execution missed everything. It's hard to believe that Motwane who once directed that iconic chase scene of Udaan can't show an iconic actor running for his daughter's life. AK vs AK can be a lot better than this! The first act was good and well set up, the second was dragged needlessly and the third, well, it was another film. The twists and story beats don't work here. The endless finding and chase of one of the characters in the second act was needless. Honestly, it felt like Motwane didn't put the same effort as Sacred Games. It felt like one night he was having a nice drink with Kashyap and a few drinks later he said "Anurag ek mast story aya hai. Ek director ko ek superstar se true perfomance nikalwana hota hai toh woh uski beti ko kidnap karta hai aur usse dhunde bolta hai and ek camera usse follow karta.One of the actors portrayed as Sherlock was an unnecessary intervention. You will find many films, especially film school ones where a writer tries to write a story or script and then his film starts playing out exactly like the screenplay and by the end the protag finds the script and reads the ending and sees it it come true. Check out THE FINAL DRAFT directed by Indranil Kashyap on youtube. Quite similar!No connection with reality. Brainless plot. That unrealistic police station scene, media talk and that fight on show looks so much unreal and dull.One more Indian show on OTT platform which doesn't make any sense You don't feel attached to the story or anything going on the screen Watch this if u want to waste your couple of minutes. Didn't expect this from Vikramaditya Motwane and Kashyap Guys avoid this Crraaaap. Neflix we expect better from you next time. All 5 stars are paid reviews, dont fall for it. Better watch content like Scam 1992, Paatal lok and Special OPS.! One rating only for anil kapoor. 1/10
