I did enjoy this book a lot; I mostly loved her attention to detail when it comes to the charaters. I do think that it was also quite slow, I defintely feel like it didn't need to have such unnecessary back story. I loved Jaime and Claire's story kind of like enimies to lovers trope, but even from when she first met Jaime you could just tell that there was somekind of spark between them. And don't get me wrong Jaime Fraser is one fine as man, in the show and on how Gabldon described him in a way that made even I as the reader fall for him. The way that Gabldon decribed the other main character of the book just kind pushed you away from them; It might have been the way that the author wrote the descriptions of Jaime compared to the others, it kinda draws you in compared to the rest. It was definetly a slow burn kind of book as well, where it had me screaming at my book, and I quote, "JUST KISS ALREADY, JESUS H.ROOSEVELT CHRIST!!!!!". I am not even joking when I tell you that it was EXACTLY what I had said most of the time. My family thought I was going crazy. During the "bad parts" *Putting it in quotes because it is different for everyone when you say bad parts* of the book that did make me stop reading for awhile to breathe, but after a while and a lot of crying over the book, I defitenly think if I could chose to read this book again for the first time I would. Totally like but not my favorite book of all time. Good read though.
