This book was always interesting to read. It made me ask myself questions and made me more interested in dystopian novels. Now, I haven’t been interested in dystopian novels, I think they’re a bit overdone. This was something else though, extremely unique. The idea of sexual restrictions and euthanizing minors makes you feel uncomfortable. That’s a point of the book, to show you what one of these places is actually like. Those scenes, though only lasting a few pages, managed to make me squirm in uncomfortableness. That’s not easy to do. Well done on that front. CURRENT RATING: five stars
Now on to the end, [SPOILER ALERT] in the end the cliff hanger was bit underwhelming and felt rushed. The rest of the book went into detail on the events that occurred while the end was a flash of information. FINAL RATING: four stars
OVERALL: A very good book, I recommend it to 12-18 year olds. It was interesting, has some mature themes and good pacing(mostly). Hopefully my review has helped you to make a decision.
