This is horrible. I can't believe a supposedly science channel is showcasing the destruction of the planet's last natural treasures. I live in a region of Colombia where foreign gold miners are illegally invading the territory, deforesting, causing irreparable damage to the ecosystems, exploiting poor locals, force-displacing indigenous communities, and polluting the environment with a bunch of mercury and cyanide that they just dump in the rivers and burn in the atmosphere to purify the gold they strip off of our land. Babies are being born with malformations due to the chronic exposure to all those toxic chemicals ... And once there is no gold left, they just move to another place to repeat the process and perpetuate the destruction. This shouldn't be entertaining to anyone.
