This is one of the best Sci-Fi films I've ever seen! Those who remember seeing Blade Runner or Alien for the first time, or the very first Star Wars, will know how it feels to be genuinely astounded. The effects are so good they don't feel like effects - they are simply part of the very well-told story. I'm an old man, but I sat spell-bound in the cinema for the whole two and a half hours, hardly daring to take my eyes from the screen. The characters in the film are strongly realised, and believable. Anyone who has read the book will know how difficult it is to convey the complexities of the various characters, but the difficulties are dealt with superbly in this film. It is a triumph. Go and see it, in a cinema preferably, and you won't be disappointed......
