I watched the piece by Ted Koppel on Gibson's in Oberlin OH & he gave this piece a healthy dose of righteous indignation. I was interested in him, via convos with Black Citizens of Oberlin, investigating the contention that Gibson's make people of color in Oberlin feel uncomfortable. I expected he would have made some attempt to "clear the air" on that accusation, but no, not at all. As long as Gibson's had been functioning, it stands to reasons that at one time Black Oberliners might have been denied entrance to Gibsons. To have that reputation currently could be an artifact of how ALL USA functioned pre Civil Rights era, so talking to Black Oberliners was critical, yet, he did not--why?
