The Complete Yoga Book, Review by a longtime meditator but a semi-beginner in the art of breathing and posture. I continually find myself
reaching for Mr. Hewitt's book for vocabulary and explanatory information on the subject of Yoga. He provides an in-depth analysis from the mundane to the esoteric on the many types of yoga and yogic practice.
An excellent glossary of Sanskrit terms, bibliography, English, and Sanskrit index of postures.
My copy printed in 1977, 550 pages is aptly titled. From beginner to advanced this book will fulfill your hunger for all things in the yogic universe. There are 191 illustrations of the postures and exact explanations of how to enter then exit each posture. This info was especially pertinent in my own yoga practice. This is my first ever review of a book. After reading and studying I felt compelled to write this review.
You will not be disappointed. Mark D. Isabelle Golden, Colorado Sept. 2020
