Read this book around the time of women's day. One of the most heart touching books from my favourite author. Mahashweta as the name suggests 'The White one' was actually a character from the story Kadambari. The novel envelopes both history and culture interwoven in the society. Being a feminist myself, it truly inspires me that how courage and confidence in a woman helped her through all odds. How lucky I am as a woman to be born into an open minded society and family. Recommended to everyone who wishes to look at life through the eyes of a woman. Really a great read !!
